The staff were very nice and accommodating.
I was very disappointed with the overall condition of the rooms. They were not in good shape, with pieces peeling off the walls and bugs crawling around the room. The shared facilities were lacking basic amenities like soap and had cleanliness issues, making the stay uncomfortable and frustrating.

The authentic Japanese meals offered were a highlight, particularly the delightful Kaiseki dinner that exemplified local culinary traditions.
The location requires navigating several transportation options, and it would help if more clear instructions for lesser-known bus routes were provided.

I had an amazing time! The gorgeous garden and the cozy vibe made my stay special. The home-cooked meals were delicious. Just a heads up, the bus access can be tricky, especially with luggage.

missingWrote a review on 30 Margorgeous gardendelicious mealscozy atmospherepoor accessibility
Ryokan Yamazaki has its charm, especially with the stunning garden that adds a peaceful vibe. The meals were a highlight, particularly the Kaiseki dinner, which was one of the best I've had during my travels in Japan. The futon on tatami mats made for a cozy night's sleep, and the soothing sound of the stream outside was a lovely backdrop while resting. However, reaching the ryokan was quite a hassle. The distance from the nearest station required a long walk uphill, especially with luggage. The shared shower area felt a bit outdated and could have used more attention regarding cleanliness. Overall, the atmosphere was lovely, yet accessibility and amenities could definitely be improved.
